Beech Leaf Vest

Redesigned for either Silken Merino or a raw silk DK-weight yarn, this pretty vest features the classic beech leaf lace design. Lace panels frame the front openings of the vest up to the shoulders, with three lace panels at the back to wow them when you walk away!

Vest is worked from the bottom up. All shaping takes place in the stocking stitch areas, meaning there are no awkward calculations in lace. Finally, a simple yet decorative crocheted edge is worked (photographic instructions are provided) and buttons are sewn on.

Both our samples are shown in Size 1 (34 inches). The green sample to the left is worked in a 100% raw silk yarn and the brown sample to the right is worked in a 50% merino wool / 50% tussah silk yarn (a warm vest for cooler months). NOTE: Fiddlesticks Knitting patterns are charted. Recommended for Intermediate knitters.
