Two Lace Scarves

These scarves feature motifs based on Shetland lace are in garter stitch.

The triangular Daisy Meadow Scarf (top) is worked from the bottom tip to the top edge, increasing every second row to create the shape.

The rectangular Rippling Waters Scarf (below) is worked by knitting a lace edging from which stitches are picked up to work the main body. Then it is finished by knitting another lace edging onto the live stitches of the body.

Recommended yarn for each scarf

1 ball laceweight yarn, 50 g / 500 m. Samples knit with 50% mulberry silk / 50% merino wool laceweight.

Finished sizes

Daisy Meadow: Approx. 50 inches across top and 37 inches along each side edge

Rippling Waters: Approx. 11.5 inches wide and 55 inches long

Needles

Looser knitters use 3.5 mm (US 4) circular or straight needles, tighter knitters use 4 mm (US 6) circular or straight needles.
